The Galway youngster captured the hearts of the nation when she appeared on The Late Late Show alongside then presenter Ryan Tubridy in 2020.
Saoirse's cancer journey began in 2019 and she received four diagnoses over four years and she captured the hearts of the nation during her appearance on RTE's Late Late Toy Show.
She wrote: "When there are no words. After a long courageous and dignified battle our hearts are shattered to tell you our beautiful little Saoirse took her final breath in our arms on Tuesday." "Cancer you stole her from us, the life we had and our dreams. Life will never be the same! " "We ask you to respect our privacy now as we take our last and final journey with our beautiful girl."
She mentioned: "Our absence has been felt and we are so grateful to each of you for checking in on us and for all the love you send our way."Continuing, she stated: "Amongst the chaos of the world and all the sadness that's out there, we are focusing on what's inside our four walls and hugging each other tight. We ask again for your prayers for Saoirse."
She admitted to being quite nervous, saying: "I was very nervous though as I was frightened that if Ryan asked me a question I would say the wrong thing. Normally, when people ask me questions I am very shy, and I just answer one word."
