Transfer updates, Premier League pre-season latest and football news
Conor Gallagher signed for Chelsea when he was eight-years-old and made it through the academy, but had to wait to make his senior debut as the club sent him out on various loans. In the 2019/20 season he had spells for Charlton Athletic and Swansea City, while in the 2020/21 campaign he was sent out to West Brom after signing a new five-year Chelsea deal.
The 2022/23 campaign saw him become a Chelsea first-team player, his debut coming against Everton in the Premier League in August 2022. He scored his first Blues goal in the October and in total he scored three goals in 45 appearances for the club that season. Last season he took on the captaincy during Reece James' spell out with injury and helped the team reach the League Cup final, which they lost to Liverpool, and a narrow 1-0 defeat to Manchester City in the FA Cup semi-final.
