Three men were hospitalized after a knife attack in Dublin's Stoneybatter area on Sunday afternoon. A man of Latin American origin has been arrested and is currently being held at a North City Garda station.

A man has been arrested following an incident in Dublin's Stoneybatter area on Sunday afternoon that resulted in three men being hospitalized. The alarming event is understood to have involved a knife assault in Dublin 7. The trio of victims has been rushed to hospital, two with serious but non-life-threatening injuries and one with less severe wounds. The detainee is currently held at a North City Garda station under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984.

Gardai have preserved several scenes in Stoneybatter for technical analysis, although traffic restrictions are no longer in place. It has been established by sources that the apprehended individual is not an Irish citizen but of Latin American origins and is not believed to be seeking International Protection at this time. Gardai are urging any witnesses or those with video evidence of between 2.30pm and 3.30pm in the Stoneybatter area to come forward. A Garda spokesperson said: 'Gardai continue to investigate all the circumstances of a serious incident which occurred in the Stoneybatter area, Dublin 7 this afternoon, Sunday, 9 February.', reports the Irish Mirror. They further requested: 'Anyone who was in the Stoneybatter area between 2.30pm and 3.30pm, who may have any video footage linked to this incident, is asked to make this footage available to Gardai.' They added: 'Anyone with information is asked to contact the Bridewell Garda Station on (01) 6668200, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111, or any Garda Station.'
