Chelsea midfielder Romeo Lavia has shared images of himself training on his birthday after a recent injury setback. The 21-year-old has been out of action for Enzo Maresca’s side since sustaining a hamstring injury in their 4-3 comeback win over rivals Tottenham earlier in the season. Lavia has missed Chelsea ’s last seven games as the club’s title challenge faltered over the festive period.
Chelsea are now winless in their last four Premier League games, losing two and drawing two, dropping to fourth, level on points with Newcastle in fifth. Lavia had been in and out of the side before the injury, starting seven of his ten games across all competitions, scoring zero goals, and providing one assist in his 487 minutes of action. Lavia could return for Chelsea’s first FA Cup game of the season against League Two Morecambe on Saturday (January 11). Chelsea will then host in-form Bournemouth just three days later as they seek to put their disappointing festive form behind them
