The plane skidded from the runway into the grass and airport bosses later announced a full closure
Customers at Leeds Bradford Airport have been left confused and frustrated after the airport announced it would close following a plane accident.
@KirstyLeitch93 said: "Can you confirm when you will be letting everyone you are keeping locked in the airport out? @easyJet will compensation as well as a refund be issued for the cancelled flight and hours stuck inside LBA?" @fleggott said: "When are you going to allow passengers who’ve had their flights cancelled to leave the gate they’ve been stuck at for >2 hours? Your staff present have done nothing but provide rude responses, refusing to give any info at all on why they aren’t allowed to leave/when they can".
In a statement Leeds Bradford Airport said: "We can confirm the airport is now closed. We ask passengers to contact their airline to check the status of their flight before travelling to the airport.
