Lee Mack was on The Graham Norton Show explaining how he got fired from Pontins
The comic and Blackburn Rovers fan is best known for his stand-up routines, as well as his unforgettable role as captain on Would I Lie To You? and on sitcom, Not Going Out. However, little may be known about Lee's former career before he hit our TV screens.
In March 2020, the comedian was sat on Graham Norton's infamous red sofa and recalled his time as a holiday camp entertainer, alongside Monty Python comic John Cleese and Martin Clunes. Showing the audience a photo of Morecambe Pontins, which Lee said was next to Heysham Power Station, host Graham asked the comedian "You really were a Blue Coat weren't you?"
The Southport comedian continued: "It was my first attempt at stand up comedy, and what happened was I had always wanted to do stand up comedy but never had the guts to do it. "You're supposed to say: 'Where are you from?' They say: 'Scotland' You say: 'Who paid for your holiday?'"But I said: 'That's terrible' He told me: 'Don't worry; that's just padding'.
