The Rhinos have named their 21-man squad ahead of their trip to the John Smith's Stadium.
Leeds Rhinos will be without David Fusitu'a for their crucial game with Huddersfield Giants on Thursday. The winger, whose Headingley career has been stifled by injuries, is a notable absentee from the 21-man squad named for the trip against West Yorkshire.
Fusitu'a, who played for full game on Saturday as Leeds lost to Hull KR, had played five consecutive games since his latest return to action, offering hope that he had overcome his injury troubles. However, he will not feature this week in a game of critical importance to Leeds' faltering play-off hopes.
He is the only change made by head coach Brad Arthur, who has recalled Ben Littlewood as a result. Sam Eseh remains in the squad after his loan deal was extended from Wigan Warriors, as first revealed by Rugby League Live.Luis Roberts and Alfie Edgell appear to be the most obvious replacements, with both having experience of playing on the wing. Edgell was an unused sub in the defeat at the weekend.
Leeds are desperately in need of a win at the John Smith's Stadium, with their play-off aspirations looking less likely by the week. With nine games to go they are four points adrift of the top six, with their trip to Huddersfield one of just three games they have left against sides outside of the play-offs as it stands.
Leeds Rhinos' 21-man squad : Lachie Miller, Harry Newman, Paul Momirovski, Ash Handley, Brodie Croft, Ash Handley, Brodie Croft, Matt Frawley, Mikolaj Oledzki, Andy Ackers, James Bentley, Rhyse Martin, Cameron Smith, Jarrod O'Connor, Sam Lisone, James McDonnell, Jack Sinfield, Luis Roberts, James Donaldson, Alfie Edgell, Tom Nicholson-Watton, Ben Littlewood, Sam Eseh.
