Police have named a 29-year-old man who was stabbed to death in a street in Leeds on Thursday.
Passers-by who found Peter Wass in the street came across an ambulance and handed him into the care of paramedics
West Yorkshire Police said: "Peter's family are completely devastated at his death in such sudden and violent circumstances."Police said Mr Wass was stabbed in an incident near to the junction of Hamilton Place and Hamilton Avenue.Peter Wass was fatally wounded at about 14:30 GMT on Thursday near the junction of Hamilton Place and Hamilton Avenue in Chapeltown
Increased stop and search powers which were put in place for 24 hours in parts of Chapeltown following the incident have been scaled back, the force said.
