Directors of Treymaine Limited says the company is being placed into Creditor's Voluntary Liquidation
The company which owns Chiltern Mills, in Crossgates Road, has announced the company has been liquidated as it was 'no longer being financially viable' after having to close down during the Covid-19 lockdowns. Directors of Treymaine Limited said Chiltern Mills was not classed as an essential business during the periods of lockdown, so could not trade.
'Due to the Covid 19 pandemic and the national lockdowns, which covered the period March 2020 until June 2022, the Company was unable to open its stores as it was classified as a 'non-essential' business and had to follow all the restrictions imposed by the Government. 'After many years of trading across the north of England these lockdowns and restrictions hindered the Company's progress and resulted in the Company no longer being financially viable.
