Leeds United have seemingly been spared a headache ahead of the new campaign with new reports suggesting Marseille have elected to target another goalkeeper over Illan Meslier .
French media stated that the Frenchman could "happily imagine" returning to his homeland with Marseille, who are in need of a new shot-stopper with Pau Lopez heading to Serie A's Como. Prior to moving to England, Meslier had never been given the opportunity to play at Ligue 1 level, only the division below.
Their chosen replacement is reportedly Alvaro Valles of Las Palmas. The 26-year-old has been the custodian of the Gran Canaria side's net since 2019 and last year helped them earn promotion to La Liga - now he will cost Marseille only £9m.
