Promotion back to the Premier League would be a huge financial benefit to the Whites
Leeds United have the third most expensive squad in the Championship this season, according to transfermarkt. Daniel Farke's 31 man first-team squad has an average age of 24.1, ranking among the youngest in the division.
All three clubs have had to sell their prize assets following relegation from the top flight, but their squad value in comparison to their Championship rivals is astronomical. Enzo Maresca's side have a market value of €252m, while Russell Martin's Southampton are valued at €247.8m. The Whites could still welcome back as many as eight of those aforementioned players back to club, leaving them with a financial headache if they don't win promotion back to the top flight. Leeds are blessed with a strong commercial department, but the finances of the Premier League aren't comparable to the Championship in the long run.
