Leeds United manager Daniel Farke has confirmed the club's strong financial position heading into the January transfer window, stating that there is 'no pressure' to sell any of their key players.

Boss Daniel Farke says Leeds United are in a 'healthy' financial position going into the January transfer window. A raft of first team players were sold last summer after the Whites failed to secure an instant Premier League window. United banked over £100m in transfer fees from selling players such as Archie Gray, Crysencio Summerville and Georginio Rutter to boost their financial situation. It left Farke needing to rebuild the squad late in the window.

But Farke insists the Whites are 'under no pressure' to sell any of their star men next month. He told the media: 'We raised more money than any club in Western Europe in the summer. There is a moment when you have to sell after spending or overspending in the years before. It's crucial for the long-term picture to do this, but it is not good for the short-term. 'We are a healthy club financially. No pressure to do anything.' Goalkeeper Ilian Meslier, centre-back Pascal Struijk and striker Patrick Bamford are said to be attracting interest from elsewhere, with the window set to open on January 1. When asked if he was aware of interest in his players, Farke replied: 'Even when there is interest, we have calmed everything down. 'We are in such a crucial period, and we want all our players to focus on us right now. We want the whole squad to be focused on these next five games. After January 4, there will be FA Cup weekend and then we can speak about everything else if we do something in January. Until then, there won’t be any decisions and we just want to focus on winning as many games as possible.
