Leeds United are competing with several Championship rivals for the loan signing of Aston Villa winger Louie Barry.
Aston Villa prodigy Louie Barry is attracting interest from several Championship clubs as his parent club aims to find him a new loan destination for the remainder of the 2024/25 season. Barry, 21, spent the first half of the campaign on loan at League One side Stockport County, scoring 15 goals and providing two assists in 23 appearances. Villa recalled him with the intention of finding him a higher level loan to accelerate his development.
Leeds United, under manager Daniel Farke, are among the clubs vying for Barry's signature, hoping to bolster their promotion push. They face competition from Sheffield United, Derby County, Hull City, and Millwall. The latter's interest stems from speculation linking Crystal Palace with a move for Millwall winger Romain Esse. Should that transfer materialize, Barry might prefer a move to Millwall where he is guaranteed more playing time. Leeds already have a competitive squad of wide players, including Manor Solomon, Largie Ramazani, Wilfried Gnonto, and Daniel James. Hull City are also thought to be confident in securing Barry's loan due to the attractive package they can offer, and their prior dealings with Villa in regards to Jaden Philogene.
