Sonny Perkins has found his form in League One with Leyton Orient
After a difficult start to his Leyton Orient loan spell, Leeds United striker Sonny Perkins has finally found his form. The 20-year-old moved to east London on a temporary deal in the summer, but had struggled to notch his first goal for the Os.
Perkins made 12 appearances for the League One side without finding the net, but broke his duck in the FA Cup, scoring the opening goal against Boreham Wood. He then went on to notch in the 3-0 win over Blackpool in the league before getting his third for the club on Tuesday night in their 3-1 EFL Trophy win at MK Dons.
“You can see when you give someone confidence what can happen to him," Wellens told Leyton Orient TV. Perkins will return to action for Leyton Orient next weekend when they travel to Stevenage, with this weekend's scheduled game against Mansfield Town postponed.
