We are into that no man’s land we think is going to last forever every year we come to it. The end of the season came for the Whites more than a week ago and that Wembley pain has started to subside with attention already looking ahead to the start of pre-season. Before the players and Daniel Farke reconvene as June turns into July for pre-season training, the hierarchy is starting to move the pieces on how the squad may look come August 10. The retained list must be imminent, with early indicators on what will happen to Liam Cooper, Sam Byram and Jamie Shackleton among others.
