Steven Schumacher spent just nine months in charge of Stoke City
Leeds United's Championship rivals Stoke City have sacked head coach Steven Schumacher - just five matches into the 2024/25 season. His departure comes following the Potters’ 1-0 loss at newly-promoted Oxford United, a result which left Stoke 13th in the table after two wins and three defeats from their opening five matches.
“After ongoing discussions with John Coates, we feel the time is right for a change in direction to bring success to the club. Schumacher becomes the Championship's second managerial casualty. Preston North End parted company with Ryan Lowe following their opening-day loss to Sheffield United.
