Leeds United made an approach to sign the Sheffield United midfielder earlier this week
The Star claims Daniel Farke's side offered Chris Wilder's side £10m plus Joel Piroe in an attempt to lure the Brazilian playmaker to Elland Road, although the club have denied making such a proposal. It was widely reported that United tabled a £13m bid for Hamer earlier this week.

The reports adds that the Blades would not be interested in a cash-plus-player deal involving Piroe, as he would not fit their current plans for the upcoming campaign.
“We know the number and the numbers that the club who made the offer have brought in this summer and what they’ve got. Top dollar for their players. I’ll leave it there with everybody but I thought he showed the urgency that we needed. And we didn’t show that enough."
