Despite reports, Leeds United has not reached an agreement with Cheikhou Kouyate. The club continues to consider the free agent midfielder as a possible addition amidst injuries to Ethan Ampadu and Ilia Gruev.
No deal has yet been agreed with Cheikhou Kouyate at Leeds United , despite reports to the contrary, but interest in the 34-year-old remains. The unattached midfielder is one of those options the club has been monitoring and remains a possible arrival, but Elland Road sources insist neither has a deal been struck nor is it at an advanced stage, as of Saturday morning.
Farke was pessimistic about what the club would find in the free market when he spoke about it last week, but admitted the injury crisis meant Leeds had to at least see what options were out there. “So I hope also that surgery goes well and that we can also use the next two weeks to bring a few players after injuries even a bit closer to the team. Yes, it's definitely one of our professional duties to have a look if there is something, even out of coincidence, out there that would help us in this situation. Yes, we have to do this.”
