Max Wober and Rasmus Kristensen have three years remaining on their Leeds United deals with final decisions on their next steps yet to be made
Decisions on the futures of Max Wober and Rasmus Kristensen are still to be reached with Leeds United more than a week on from their Euro 2024 exits. The defenders each jumped ship after relegation last summer and spent the year away on loan, but now new resolutions need to be sought.
The other layer to their narratives is the fact they were understood to be two of the players who initially indicated they would stay after relegation last year. Farke’s first plan included them both, but he would soon feel the rug pulled from under him by both. Wober started 24 of Borussia Monchengladbach’s 34 Bundesliga fixtures, while Kristensen began 19 of Roma’s 38 in Serie A. The former’s loan club has been strongly linked with bringing him back, but have been left frustrated by United’s reported eight-figure asking price.
Should Farke and either of the players agree to give it a go next season, they will need to be braced with thick skins in the opening weeks of the campaign. United’s fans will always back those wearing white, but, like Aaronson, this pair would need to graft their way back into favour.
