Michael Skubala has made just one change to his Leeds United U21s side to take on Liverpool at the LNER Community Stadium in York. The Whites return to Premier League 2 action this afternoon, a competition they haven’t won in since September 1, but having seen off Hertha BSC B on Tuesday night, they’ll be flying high in confidence.
Mateo Joseph remains with the U21s after making his first appearance of the season in midweek. He played a key role in the win and managed to find the back of the net in the second half and he’ll surely be looking to build on that form this afternoon. Darko Gyabi and Lewis Bate start together in midfield once more, while Leo Hjelde has shaken off the knock he picked up against the Germans to retain his place in the side and give this U21s side a very experienced feel. The only change, then, comes between the sticks with Dani van den Heuvel being replaced by Harry Christy.The Dutchman had a couple of nervy moments against Hertha and perhaps that’s why the change has been made.
