Leeds United made new contract offers to Liam Cooper, Jamie Shackleton and Cody Drameh before their deals expired on Monday morning
Contract decisions from Liam Cooper , Jamie Shackleton and Cody Drameh are still being awaited at Leeds United with the trio now officially free agents. Their deals at Elland Road expired yesterday with the Whites yet to find a resolution with any of them.
Ayling and Bate have signed deals with Middlesbrough and Stockport County respectively, while Poveda was not offered a new deal at Elland Road. It remains to be seen what will happen with the three who Leeds did show an intention of keeping.Cooper, the club captain, is of course the headline name. If his service continues through to August he will hit 10 years with the Whites, but his options remain open for now.
The likelihood of Shackleton or Drameh staying on remains far slimmer. The former has been strongly linked with Sheffield United and, at 25, after years of failing to get regular football needs to surely find a new challenge. A new contract has been offered to Drameh, but United do not expect him to accept the terms. There is also, by offering him a new deal, the small matter of compensation the Whites will be entitled to if Drameh does find a new club because he is under 24.
