The house prices in Boston Spa and other villages have fallen by ten percent in a year
Locals in a posh Leeds village where house prices have decreased more than anywhere else in Yorkshire, have hit out at how “strange” that is and said “it’s as good as Harrogate”.
So confounded by the data, Boston Spa librarian Adrian tried to make sense of the damning findings. Adrian claimed it must be “just a general economic downturn”.But then reminded of the fact, the house prices had reduced significantly more than other places across Yorkshire , Adrian said: “Maybe it’s just a levelling out of what the prices were previously of what the actual market is now?
Café owner Linda Hartshore, who runs Harts Coffee House & Deli, which was featured on Yorkshire Live’s ‘ 20 best places to get breakfast and brunch in Leeds’ was also shocked by the data. “As an outsider looking in, I think people are really lucky to live here. It has everything on its doorstep. It’s just great. I find it strange. People will be having their kitchen renovated for £100,000. It’s retained its village image and I think that’s all for the best. It’s lovely.”
