Drew's former business partner has remembered his 'exceptional' work
Wirral businessman Drew Cockton's legacy was kept alive over the weekend. The entrepreneur owned the vegan fragrance brand Owen Drew and gained a following after appearing on Dragons' Den, where he secured a £50,000 investment from Touker Suleyman. Mr Cockton was found dead, aged 36, at his Claughton home in October 2022, just a few hours after hosting his second LGBTQ+ Business Awards ceremony at the Titanic Hotel in Liverpool.
“The LGBTQ+ Flowers Awards showcased the best our community has to offer, and Drew exemplified this through his leadership and dedication to supporting LGBTQ+ individuals in business.” One of the standout moments of the evening, hosted by EastEnders's Cheryl Fergison, was Elaine Clarke awarding of the Lifetime Achievement accolade. The businesswoman is the CEO of Baa Bar Limited and her journey began in the early 1980s, working in Café Tabac, before taking on a leadership role in 1991.
