Weezer scraps project due to ‘not enough sales’ Weezer has once again been forced to ditch plans linked to their ‘SZNZ’ project after ‘poor sales’ left the project unsustainable. This is the second time in recent years the 90s band – made up of Rivers Cuomo, Patrick Wilson, Brian Bell, and Scott Shriner – has cancelled over disappointing sales. After their 2022 EP, Van Weezer, the group released four more EPs based on the seasons; Spring, Summer, Autumn, and Winter.
’ The ‘Broadway cancel thing’ refers to another project from the Say It Ain’t So singers which was left by the wayside due to high costs. They had announced five back-to-back gigs at the Broadway Theatre in New York in 2022, again with each one focused on a season. Frontman Rivers took to the Discord server in August of that year to state it would no longer go ahead after poor sales. ‘I just learned that our Broadway shows have been cancelled ’ he confirmed.
