He was active as a session musician and played on several albums by various artists, and along with Bowie and Wonder, he worked with James Brown and Eric Clapton, per his When he toured with Wonder, he recorded for Wonder’s “Talking Book” album. Later when he toured with Bowie, Sanborn recorded the famous solo heard on “Young Americans.”
