It's Nottingham vs Leeds as Josh Warrington challenges Leigh Wood for his WBA featherweight title at the Utilita Arena in Sheffield next month
Leigh Wood and Josh Warrington will have their all-British featherweight world title showdown as they finally meet in Sheffield on October 7. The contest is one of the biggest British fights of the year, with the WBA title on the line for two fighters who have both been world champions in their career.
That title was lost last December against Luis Alberto Lopez via majority decision and he will now seek to become a world champion once again against Wood. Despite being the title holder, Wood will travel across the border from his home-town of Nottingham into Yorkshire to face the fight, with the Leeds-born Warrington travelling south to Sheffield's Utilita Arena, which will stage the contest.
"So why can't I dream more? Why can't I dream to be a unified champion? To become a two-weight champion or treat my fans to a Las Vegas fight week?"
