The novel follows two friends Orla and Kate on their annual trip away together. The pair head off on their holiday to Lisbon and start the weekend with a big night out, but when Orla wakes up the next morning Kate has vanished. Things quickly go from bad to worse as Orla is brushed off by the police and realises that she's her friend's only hope. In trying to find her she makes some sinister discoveries that threaten everything she thought she knew.
