Ella Bardsleyis the latest charitable move from the creative industry to combat the COVID-19 crisis. Bands including The Vaccines, Spector, Foals, Wolf Alice,and Swim Deep all appear on the one-off album of exclusive unreleased tracks. The mash-up of remixes, covers and demos were recorded in aid of the NHS, with all profits funding specialised PPE for hospitals that are yet to be provided with it.
"We don't believe the NHS should be treated like a charity, but it's difficult to watch as frontline medical professionals put their lives at risk during this crisis, especially due to lack of the right equipment," read the British rock band, Spector's, Instagram. "With that in mind, all proceeds of this record will be used to directly fund the purchase and distribution of reusable PPE Respirators ato protect key workers during Covid-19 and beyond.
Their initial target of £30,000 will provide enough ‘PAPR’ to help fully stock Lewisham Greenwich NHS Trust , Mid Yorkshire NHS Trust and University Hospital Crosshouse in Scotland. All money raised beyond that will provide equipment for further hospitals and regions based on need.
