The five year old wrote to Prince Philip in 1954 while he was on a Royal tour to Australia with the Queen The letter emerged for sale from a private collection at International Autograph Auctions Europe in Malaga, Spain. 'The only other similar example that I have offered previously was a letter written by Queen Victoria at the age of seven.
Addressing their different personalities in a 2016 interview with Gyles Brandreth, Philip said: 'Charles is a romantic - and I am a pragmatist.' Recalling the conversation, which took place some years ago before Charles married Camilla, he revealed: '"He's a romantic," he said,"and I'm a pragmatist. That means we do see things differently".
