A frustrated rail user has encouraged people to make their views known on plans to close a number of ticket offices at railway stations across the country

. Brian George, of Nottingham, wrote a letter to the Nottingham Post about plans to axe ticket offices across Nottinghamshire and across the country.

I have researched this further through Transport Focus, and the number of offices affected for closure is, as I count it, is 20. With a further nine offices, including Nottingham, having their opening hours affected, albeit in some cases by not very much. Those who go to Skegness are also due to be affected, albeit over a two-year period. Ticket office opening hours are also due to be reduced at such places as: Derby, Leicester, Lincoln, Nottingham and even London St Pancras.
