Letters to the Editor
Readers note Family Gateway has had a new home; question the ownership of a stock exchange in Dallas; comment on Donald Trump’s guilty verdict; share a D-Day memory; and enjoy birding.Re: “Building Ruined Under City Hall’s Nose — No one stopped old Family Gateway from becoming part of homeless camp,” Wednesday editorial.Thank you for emphasizing to your readers that Family Gateway does not own or operate the building located at 711 S. St. Paul St. referenced in this story.
In this case, Donald Trump was convicted. The prosecutor did his job, and the defense lawyers were defeated. The tragedy is that this editorial gives support to those who would believe that the verdict is unjust. The framers of our Constitution did not create an article regarding a person being able to run for president while being a convicted felon. Why? Because in their wildest dreams, the framers did not envision a convicted felon running for election to the highest office in our land.
Hard to believe a mere 24 years later, our unit was attacked with rockets and mortars during the Tet Offensive up in An Khê in Vietnam. I also survived.investigated the flag incident with Justice Samuel Alito three years ago and decided it was a non-story. They determined that Alito’s wife had flown the flag upside down over a dispute with a neighbor. When he found out, he asked her to correct it but she refused for several days.
Lifelong birder David Hurt, who is quoted in this story, deserves credit for being a strong advocate/proponent of birding. His Wild Birds Unlimited stores further support birding by offering delivery of bird feed and supplies. Older customers are even more appreciative as they can enjoy backyard bird watching with less effort. We love our Cardinals, wrens, chickadees and woodpeckers.
