The Scots singer may be on a break from live touring but he's still topping the charts.
He may be on a much deserved hiatus from the music industry, but Scots singer Lewis Capaldi is still number one in fans’ minds as the results of a very interesting poll have been revealed.
Lewis racked up a whopping 614,030 total searches over the past year, with nearest competition Ed Sheeran, who took the number two spot, being searched 391,500 times and former One Direction star Harry, who placed third, boasting 288,930 searches. Back in June, Lewis, 27, announced his heartbreaking decision to take a step back from touring “for the foreseeable future” after struggling during his set at Glastonbury, with his dedicated fans taking over singing duties for him.
He thanked the Glastonbury organisers and his fans for “singing along when I needed it and for all the amazing messages afterwards. It really does mean the world.” “I’m so incredibly sorry to everyone who had planned to come to a show before the end of the year but I need to feel well to perform at the standard you all deserve. Playing for you every night is all I’ve ever dreamed of so this has been the most difficult decision of my life. I’ll be back as soon as I possibly can.”
