F1 legend Lewis Hamilton has been complimentary of INEOS' Sir Jim Ratcliffe after meeting through the Mercedes team
Manchester United takeover hopeful Sir Jim Ratcliffe is in the closest position yet to acquiring a stake in his boyhood club after developments over the weekend.
As has been a common theme with the takeover process to date, uncertainty remains as to what Ratcliffe will be wanting to accomplish should he complete his purchase. Previously, Hamilton has admitted to knowing details about Ratcliffe's attempts to buy United. In February, the 38-year-old said: "I am very close with Jim so I am aware of where he is at . "Obviously he is from Manchester so that is his dream home... where he comes from. But there is no further information I can give you on that."
