Almost half – 47% – have been insulted, pestered, intimidated or harassed in person. As a result, 61% say they avoid certain streets because they do not feel safe there. ‘The voices and experiences of Black LGBTQI+ people and people of colour are essential to understanding what life is really like in the UK, but we are often overlooked,’ says Lady Phyll, co-founder of UK Black Pride.
