Members at Lib Dem-run Wymondham Town Council will have a special room next to the council chamber where they can receive advice on 'grounding techniques.'
The scheme follows a blistering resignation speech by a Tory councillorA council has been branded 'wet' after introducing a 'red card' system for snowflake councillors to take time out from debates that are causing them distress.
Cllr Barrett proposed the new system, which was adopted unanimously by colleagues this week – although they decided against his proposal to actually use red cards, due to their 'negative connotation'. Members will instead hold up name cards. Cllr Holden – who previously apologised to Cllr Barrett for any unintentional distress – said: 'If you can't stand the heat, get out of the kitchen.
Another said: 'These cllrs are a total bunch of self-obsessed cretins. Always full of self-importance. Psychiatric emergency? Get a grip.' The scheme's origins date back to February, when Mr Holden delivered his coup de grace as he resigned – although it was cut short as he launched into a criticism of chairwoman Suzanne Nuri-Nixon and clerk Trevor Gurney.
It has since emerged that Cllr Barrett complained the speech had triggered a 'psychiatric emergency' which meant he had to leave the room for 20 minutes and take prescription medicine.
