Sir Ed has refused to rule out a potential Lib Dem-Labour coalition, confirming that the party’s “focus is getting rid of Conservative MPs”.
However, Sir Keir is still outperforming the Prime Minister in personal approval ratings, with the Labour leader beating Mr Sunak on every single leadership characteristic. Most people also said they thought Sir Keir would do a better job of uniting the British public than Mr Sunak, with almost half saying the Labour leader would bring people together, compared with just over a quarter for the Prime Minister.
The Prime Minister has promised to work “night and day” to deliver on the priorities he has set for the nation after theThe Conservatives have no natural coalition allies in a hung parliament, meaning Mr Sunak faces an uphill struggle to cling on to power. His party’s chance of election victory could also be made slimmer if there is widespread tactical voting by anti-Tory voters.
