Penrith MP Stuart Ayres says the Liberal party plans to focus on Western Sydney and on “reducing the cost of living”.
“There’s definitely a lot of pressure on household budgets at the moment after a series of sustained interest rate rises,” he told Sky News Australia.
“When you live in outer Western Sydney you’ve got to travel a lot for your job, we’ve been trying to bring jobs closer to people in Penrith.”

‘War’ erupts in Victorian Liberal Party over Moira Deeming expulsionA war has erupted in the Victorian Liberal Party over the expulsion of Moira Deeming after she helped plan a protest advocating for women’s rights, says Sky News host Sharri Markson. “The protest was advocating for the reinstatement of biological sex-based rights and it was protesting transitioning practices used on gender non-conforming and gay minors,” Ms Markson said. “A controversial rally, absolutely, but nothing that you’d think would warrant Deeming being thrown out of the Liberal Party – just for standing up for women's rights.'
