New York Liberty guard Sabrina Ionescu will be on the cover of this year’s WNBA edition of NBA 2K24. This marks the third cover in the franchise that will feature a WNBA player. Ionescu spoke with benpickman about the honor:
It should come as little surprise, then, about what team Ionescu said she was most excited to face in the video game she is fronting. “Obviously Vegas,” she said, “Because they are the No. 1 team in the league this year and the team to beat. It will be fun playing against them in real life and also in 2K.” —.
“Just knowing that I stand for a lot more than just representing my team and the league, but also just continuing to inspire the youth, and knowing that a lot of kids that are gonna play this game will one day dream to be on the cover as well. That’s really what’s important to me and what I want my legacy to be.”“Sabrina’s ascendance has been an absolute joy to watch, as she continues to showcase her skills on a nightly basis,” 2K’s Global Chief Marketing Officer Melissa Bell said in a release.
