Lidl hikes price of two essentials, bringing bill for basics above £11 in every supermarket

Price rises at budget retailer Lidl mean the cost of the same essentials has topped £11 at every supermarket.

Last week we reported how Lidl was the only one of the six supermarkets where the bill was still under £11, at £10.92.But now, with it increasing the price of its teabags from £1.09 to £1.19 and its beans from 22p a tin to 26p, it's reached £11.03. The only other changes this week are a slight drop in the cost of Lidl's cheapest loaf, back down to 36p and a larger reduction at Asda, which has dropped its butter down from £2.15 to £1.99.
