Lidl at the shopping precinct on Grampian Way in the Baljaffray area of Bearsden will shut on May 1, the supermarket giant has confirmed.A spokesperson for Lidl said: “In the last year, we've opened a brand-new store in Anniesland, which is almost double the size of the Lidl on Grampian Way, providing households in the area with an enhanced shopping experience."The area remains on our site requirements list, and our dedicated property team is actively looking for alternative sites.
“All colleagues have been offered redeployment opportunities, and in addition to our Anniesland store, customers can still access our great value products at the nearby Mill Road store in Yoker.” Prior to this confirmation, Amy Callaghan MP explained last week that she had contacted Lidl about the concerns over the future of the store.
In a post on Facebook, she said: “I have stressed how vital this store is to our local community in Baljaffray.Readers’ comments: You are personally liable for the content of any comments you upload to this website, so please act responsibly.
