'People think they are coming to a quiet little seaside town but it's actually buzzing'
A 'hidden gem' seaside town bursting with 'tonnes and tonnes of potential' is being overlooked, despite boasting 'incredibly cheap' property prices.
Brian said: “It is a hidden gem. lots of people stay with us three to four nights and the first thing they do is get in the car and go to the central Lakes.” His daughter Claire Scott, who runs Lismore Guest House and lives next door with her partner Steven Graham and two teenage children, praised the local community: "Whitehaven is a little pretty town. People think they are coming to a quiet little seaside town but it's actually buzzing."
Jo Slater, 60, with three decades of experience in fashion and textiles in London under her belt, now works in a Whitehaven gift shop. She discussed the increasing interest from down south, saying: "I vowed I wouldn't come back to Cumbria.
