BREAKING: Social media star Lil Tay has confirmed that she is alive and well, claiming she was the victim of a bizarre death hoax.
‘I want to make it clear that my brother and I are safe and alive, but I’m completely heartbroken, and struggling to even find the right words to say,’ the teenager told the outlet.
‘It’s been a very traumatizing 24 hours. All day yesterday, I was bombarded with endless heartbreaking and tearful phone calls from loved ones all while trying to sort out this mess. ‘My Instagram account was compromised by a 3rd party and used to spread jarring misinformation and rumors regarding me, to the point that even my name was wrong. My legal name is Tay Tian, not “Claire Hope”.’The star also thanked Meta for getting her Instagram account back, the publication reports., in 2014, and amassed millions of followers thanks to Instagram videos and skits in which she flaunted her wealth.
Her page remained inactive between 2018 and 2023, before the statement of her ‘death’ was shared, with her last post being a tribute to XXXTentacion. Tay’s death was seemingly announced on her Instagram page on Wednesday in a statement, which has since been removed.The message, which was not signed off by anyone, read: ‘It is with a heavy heart that we share the devastating news of our beloved Claire’s sudden and tragic passing. We have no words to express the unbearable loss and indescribable pain.
