With the Olympics being dominated by the fight between Angela Carini and Imane Khelif, boxer Ebanie Bridges said he will boycott the competition as she sent a message to the IOC.
Lin Yu-Ting 's opponent Esra Yildiz Kahraman held up an 'X' sign in protest after her unanimous decision defeat.by the IOC to compete in the Paris Olympics after being disqualified from last year's World Championships as she failed an unspecified gender test.She took on Turkish fighter Yildiz Kahraman in the semi-finals of the women's 57kg competition, with a win set to see her follow Khelif in earning a chance to win a gold medal.
The fight began with Yu-Ting as the huge favourite given her stellar amateur record, which has seen her become world champion on two occasions. But the favourite responded with some elite counter-punching and it saw her again take a clean sweep according to the officials going into the final round. Yu-Ting had previously boxed on a solid run in the Olympics which began when she dominated Sitora Turdibekova in dominant fashion to get her campaign underway.
But she has still been caught up in a difficult storm of controversy, doing well to fight through adversity and keep her mind focused on a gold medal quest.
