Her death was announced in a statement released by her agent, revealing that she had been admitted to Blackpool Victoria Hospital with double pneumonia over the weekend. Linda had been battling breast cancer for 20 years.
She peacefully passed away in the early hours of Wednesday morning, surrounded by her loving family. Linda rose to fame alongside her sisters as a member of the girlband The Nolans, achieving global success and becoming the first Irish act to sell over a million records worldwide. The group toured extensively, selling over 30 million records with hits such as Gotta Pull Myself Together, Attention to Me, and the iconic disco classic I'm In The Mood for Dancing. Beyond her musical achievements, Linda dedicated her life to helping others, raising over £20 million for numerous charities, including Breast Cancer Now, Irish Cancer Society, and Samaritans. Her selflessness and tireless commitment to making a difference in the lives of others will forever be a cornerstone of her legacy. Following the news of Linda's death, both sisters Coleen and Anne paid tribute by re-sharing the statement announcing her passing on X. Coleen posted a broken-hearted emoji, while Anne shared three hearts on her account. Linda's sister Coleen wrote on Instagram: 'Her memory will live on in the many lives she touched.' Coleen and Anne both reshared the announcement of Linda's death, with three hearts and a broken heart emoji. Coleen's Loose Women co-stars Christine Lampard, Kelly Brook, Myleene Klass, and Nadia Sawalha paid an emotional on-air tribute to Linda shortly after her death was announced. Sharing their cherished memories with each other, Nadia said: 'Nothing prepares because there is a moment when the light goes out, and when the light goes out, that is the most awful shock. They've been through so much as a family, sending all our love.' Christine added: 'Sending love to Coleen, Linda's family, all of the family. We're thinking of you all today.' He posted: 'My beautiful Aunty Linda. got to spend a few hours with her yesterday, which I'm very grateful for.
