Anne Nolan appeals to fans to attend memorial service for Linda Nolan. The service will be held at St Paul's Church in Blackpool, a place significant to Linda due to her marriage and Brian Hudson's funeral.

Anne Nolan issued a heartfelt plea to fans and residents of Blackpool as the family prepare to bid farewell to their beloved sister Linda Nolan today (Saturday, February 1st). Linda sadly passed away on January 15 at the age of 65, surrounded by her loved ones in hospital after a long fight against cancer that spanned two decades.

A touching memorial service is set to be held for Linda at 10:30am at St Paul's Church in Blackpool, a place of deep personal significance as it is where she exchanged wedding vows and later mourned her husband Brian Hudson. Speaking on BBC Breakfast in a pre-recorded tribute shared on Saturday's show, Anne celebrated Linda's life and her accomplishments but also urged those who wanted to pay their respects. She declared: 'Everyone is welcome' at the emotional memorial. She added an invitation for all those who could make it, saying: 'Please be there if you can, if you can make it. She would have loved to have seen as many people as possible,' Anne implored, reflecting Linda's wishes, reports the Express. Following the announcement of Linda's passing, the outpouring of support and love for the performer and her family has been profound. 'It's been amazing everyone's been phoning and sending cards and that's how it's been. Everybody's been amazing', Anne said. She added: 'We're so grateful. I mean they lit up the tower when she passed away, the tower was lit up in pink. I think she would have been thrilled if she knew what was happening.' She also reflected on the poignant choice of location for Linda's funeral, noting its deep personal significance as it was the same church where Linda and her late husband Brian had exchanged vows in 1981. In a heartfelt tribute interview, Anne recounted: 'Yes they were married in that church and then when Brian passed away, Linda had his funeral there as well,' her voice breaking with emotion as she wiped away tears. Linda met Brian in 1979, and the couple quickly fell in love, marrying just two years later. Brian not only managed the Nolans' tours until 1983 but also took on the role of Linda's manager when she embarked on her solo career after leaving the group. The couple enjoyed 26 years of marriage, remaining close companions until Brian's sad death on 21 September 2007, at the age of 60, following a battle with liver failure and skin cancer. Anne shared that the pair were virtually inseparable right up to Brian's last day. Before Brian's passing, Linda faced her own health challenges, receiving a devastating breast cancer diagnosis in 2005. She underwent a mastectomy in 2006 as part of her treatment. In a past interview with the Mirror, Linda opened up about how Brian's support was her rock during her toughest times with the illness. She revealed: 'I always think if he was here, he'd sort it. When I had cancer in 2006, I'd wake up in the night feeling rubbish and he'd rub my back, giving me what I needed. I miss him every day. I had depression when I lost him and I still suffer now, but it's under control.' BBC Breakfast airs every day on BBC One, from 6am
