Linda Nolan, the well-loved Irish pop singer, television personality, and Daily Mirror columnist, has passed away at the age of 65 after a courageous battle with secondary breast cancer. Nolan's death was surrounded by family and love at Blackpool Victoria Hospital. She was known for her candid openness about her cancer journey, which began in 2005 and saw her initially achieve remission in 2011.

Beloved TV star and pop sensation Linda Nolan has passed away at 65 after a long battle with secondary breast cancer . The Daily Mirror columnist died today, her famous sisters by her side, shortly after penning a moving article for the publication. Her final hours were spent enveloped in 'love and comfort', reports the Mirror.

In a poignant tribute to Linda, agent Dermot McNamara released a statement: 'It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Linda Nolan, the celebrated Irish pop legend, television personality, Guinness World Record holding West End star, Sunday Times bestselling author and Daily Mirror columnist.' 'She passed at around 10:20am at Blackpool Victoria Hospital on the MCEW Ward. The family said the hospital couldn't do enough, they were tireless and made it so much more bearable. 'She passed peacefully, with her loving siblings by her bedside, ensuring she was embraced with love and comfort during her final moments. Linda's legacy extends beyond her extraordinary achievements in music and entertainment. She will be remembered as a symbol of hope and courage as she bravely shared her story to support others and raise awareness. Rest in peace, Linda. You will be sorely missed but your memory will live on.' The family have requested that the hospital's name be withheld, but they have confirmed that a public memorial will be arranged to honour the beloved celebrity. Linda's passing will undoubtedly come as a shock to her devoted followers who have been accompanying her on her candid journey with cancer. Linda was first diagnosed with breast cancer in 2005 and was given the all-clear in 2011. But in 2017 - four years after the death of her sister Bernie, aged 52 in 2013 - Linda was told the disease had returned after tumours were found in her hip bone and pelvis. Like Bernie, she was diagnosed with incurable secondary breast cancer but remained determined to make the most of the time she had left. She channelled her fame and comic talent to support others facing similar battles, including her sister Anne, who received a stage three breast cancer diagnosis in 2020, shortly after Linda learnt that her own cancer had metastasised to her liver. United by their struggle, the sisters underwent chemotherapy sessions together; Anne's went into remission while Linda understood her condition was terminal—manageable but not curable. In 2023, Linda faced another blow as the cancer reached her brain. However, she dedicated herself to philanthropy and spearheaded a successful campaign to secure NHS access to the revolutionary drug Enhertu for all secondary breast cancer patients
