The family of late singer Linda Nolan has invited everyone to attend her funeral service this weekend. Linda, known for her work with the iconic girl group The Nolans, passed away at the age of 65 on January 15th after a courageous battle with cancer. The memorial service will be held at St Paul's Church in Blackpool, the same church where she married her late husband and bid him farewell. The family is also fundraising for Trinity Hospice, a cause close to Linda's heart, and encourages donations and condolences through a dedicated memorial page. The family of the late Linda Nolan have extended an open invitation to her funeral this weekend. A memorial service for Linda is set to take place on Saturday, 1 February at St Paul's Church in Blackpool at 10.30am. The Dublin-born star sadly passed away on 15 January at the age of 65 in a hospital in the seaside town, surrounded by her loved ones.
The service will be held in the same church where Linda married her husband of over two decades, Brian Hudson, and also bid him farewell after his passing in 2007, according to her family. On Thursday, her sister Anne Nolan posted on Instagram saying “we lay our wonderful sister Linda to rest” this weekend. “There’s been a bit of confusion regarding the church service and the crematorium. Just to clarify everyone is welcome to both services,” she added. “There may not be seating available as both places are small and obviously we are a big family so most of the seating will be taken by us but if you don’t mind standing we would love you to be there and we know Linda would be thrilled.” The family is also fundraising for Trinity Hospice, a cause close to Linda's heart, and have requested that donations and messages of condolences be directed to a memorial page in her honour. So far, over £2,450 has been raised on the Much Loved site for the hospice, reports the Mirror. Linda, who shot to fame with her sisters, Coleen, Maureen, Bernie, Denise and Anne, in the iconic girl group The Nolans, had been a long-time advocate for cancer awareness after being diagnosed with breast cancer in 2005. In a touching tribute on the group's official Instagram page, fans were invited to pay their respects to Linda's remarkable life. 'Everyone who knew Linda, or whose lives she touched, are welcome to come and pay their respects as we remember her remarkable life,' the post read. 'Fans and public are welcome to gather outside the church for the funeral – and in true Linda spirit, the more the merrier.' The beloved singer was hailed as a 'symbol of hope, humour and resilience' and a 'beloved sister, friend and entertainer'. Linda was rushed to hospital with double pneumonia earlier this month and sadly fell into a coma, her manager Dermot McNamara revealed. He confirmed that she passed away surrounded by her loving siblings. Linda had bravely battled cancer for many years, being diagnosed with breast cancer in 2005, before being given the all-clear in 2011. However, the cancer returned as secondary breast cancer in 2017, and by 2020, it had spread, reaching her brain by 2023
