The sequel to the beloved Disney body-swapping film is set to hit theaters in 2025.
Freaky Friday 2 comes over 20 years after Lohan and Curtis first swapped bodies in 2003's Freaky Friday. Directed by Late Night director Nisha Ganatra, Freaky Friday 2 gives the beloved formula “a multigenerational twist,” according to its official synopsis. A teen no longer, Anna now has a daughter of her own and a soon-to-be stepdaughter.
New faces are also getting freaky in the sequel, including The Good Place's Manny Jacinto, Never Have I Ever's Maitreyi Ramakrishnan, Once Upon a Time in Hollywood's Julia Butters, and Sophia Hammonds. Lohan and Curtis's Freaky Friday was the third film adaptation of Mary Rodgers’s original 1972 novel. The 2003 version grossed over $160 million at the box office.
