Lindsay Lohan and Jamie Lee Curtis took to the stage at Disney's D3 fan event in California to announce what the upcoming sequel to Freaky Friday would be called
Lindsay Lohan and Jamie Lee Curtis have confirmed the title of the sequel to their 2003 hit comedy, Freaky Friday.
Last year, Curtis told the New York Times that she phoned Disney to discuss a sequel after numerous people asked her if it was a possibility. Freaky Friday, about a mother and daughter who switch bodies thanks to a magical Chinese fortune cookie, is based on a 1972 novel by Mary Rodgers. Lohan and Curtis appeared on stage at Disney's D3 event in Anaheim, California on Friday. The pair were greeted with a standing ovation on stage at the fan event, with Curtis describing the film – set to debut in 2025 – as “more fun and more emotional” than the original.
Oscar-winner Curtis told the audience: “For me, it feels like no time has passed. We love these characters, we love each other, we love you and you love us and the movie and the story and what it means to you – that’s why we’re here.”
