The Line Fire has swept through Southern California since last week, forcing the evacuation of over 6,000 residents and threatening thousands of homes and businesses, but there are hopes it could be brought under control as the hot weather eases.The fire has scorched more than 37 square miles near the San Bernardino National Forest, with firefighters battling triple-digit temperatures and challenging terrain.
Richardson, a math and physics instructor at Platt College, said he planned to meet with his students online before deciding whether to leave the community where he was born and raised.'If we're seeing flames and the air gets bad, we're probably going to head down,' he said.Mandatory evacuations were issued Saturday evening for several areas, including Running Springs and Arrowbear Lake.
